Dear Cousin Nannie: I hope you will excuse me for not calling on you tonight.
I had promised to go with some friends to the University Observatory one
night and have learned since seeing you that they expected to go tonight.
I am very sorry that this will prevent me from calling on you this evening.
But will be pleased to come tomorrow night if it suits your convenience
