Seven generations in Virginia
1st Generation
About the middle of the 18th century, three brothers names
Hazelgrove emigrated to Virginia; one settled in Hanover
County, and one in Cumberland County.
Note: Hanover County is a part of the original New Kent
County.

2 John Hazelgrove of Hanover County, Virginia, sergeant
in Continental Line, Revolutionary War, married
________Timberlake, said to have been the daughter of a
Revolutionary soldier.
3. John Hazelgrove, of Fredericksburg, Virginia,
married Frances -- See his will.
4.Pleasant Hazelgrove of Cumberland County, Virginia,
married ______Winston. See letter from Mr. W. P.
Hazelgrove, attorney-at-law, Roanoke, Virginia. (I do not
know whether this Hazelgrove belongs to the 1st or 2nd
generation in Virginia.)
3rd Generation
1. #Josiah Hazelgrove, son of #John Hazelgrove of Hanover
county, and his wife _____Timberlake, married Mildred Tyler
of Hanover County.
2. Benjamin Hazelgrove, son of John Hazelgrove, of
Fredericksburg, Spottsylvania County, Virginia and his wife,
Frances -- (see his fathers will).
3. Mildred Hazelgrove (Ann) Jones - married.
Children of *Josiah Hazelgrove and his 2nd wife, *Nancy
Timberlake.
4. Henry Chapman Hazelgrove, married Mrs. Lucy Hudgins
Jordan - Child Henry Chapman
5. John William Hazelgrove, married Mary Overby.
6. Jerome W. Hazelgrove, married Josephine Perrin.
7. Benjamin A. Hazelgrove, married Mary Timberlake.
8. *Simeon Austin Hazelgrove, married Oliver Timberlake.
Served in Confederate Army, Ware Between the States.
9. Claudius A. Hazelgrove, married ---Annette Browning.
10. Mary (Polly) Hazelgrove, married --- Tyler.
11. Eudora Hazelgrove, married John Wesley Burnett.
The Hazelgroves and Timberlakes, of Hanover County,
intermarried in several generations. They seemed to have an
affinity for each other.

Watkins Auld, born September 24, 1835; died December 31,
1877. (Served in Confederate Army, War Between the States
1861-65) Son of Edward Auld (served in the War of 1812) and
Harriet Elizabeth Watkins, daughter of William Watkins and
Martha Bowe, who was granddaughter of William Bowe, of
Hanover County, a Revolutionary soldier, and descendant of
John Bowe who settled in Hanover County in 1701.
Elizabeth, Widow of William Watkins Auld, married 2ndly,
Thomas Sheppared of Richmond, Virginia.
5. #Annie Eliza Lyons Hazelgrove, born February 21, 1842;
died February 15, 1922; married November 12, 1863, Thomas
Jefferson Auld, born in Richmond, Virginia, July 4, 1838;
died in Danville, Virginia, January 23, 1914. (Served in
the Confederate Army, War Between the States, 1861-65)
Note: Thomas Jefferson Auld was brother of the above William
Watkins Auld.
6. Mildred Rebecca Hazelgrove, married John Henry
Timberlake.
7. Catherine Susan Hazelgrove, married Delfino Meoni.
6th Generation
Note: In the 6th Generation I am giving only my immediate

8. Walter Louis Auld, born February 20, 1878; died October
19, 1878.
9. Thomas Jefferson Auld, Jr., born November 4, 1879,
married August 12, 1914, Minnie Reid Lawrence, daughter of
William Heywood Lawrence and Emily Reid, of Livingston,
Alabama.
10. Margaret Temple Auld, born June 4, 1882; married August
3, 1910, Adrian Otis Arvin, son of Langston Arvin and
Elizabeth (Betty) Chaffin.
7th Generation

1. Joseph Erle Morre, born December 6, 1890. (Son of Theresa
Blanche Auld and Josiah Edward Moore.) Served overseas in
World War, 1st Lieutenant 1918-19). Married June 23, 1921,
Lalla Mae Porter of Texas - living in Texas.
2. William Lawrence Auld, born September 14, 1915, son of
Thomas Jeffereson Auld, Jr., and Minnie Reid Lawrence.
3. Charles Curtis Auld, son of Thomas Jeffereson Auld, Jr.,
and Minnie Reid Lawrence, born September 25, 1916, married
April 1, 1935, Margaret Blakeney. Living in Birmingham,
Alabama.
4. Children of Margaret Temple Auld and Adrian Otis Arvin

January 20, 1934, Franklin Rene Chason.
