Dear Uncle R. & Aunt N.
It has been a long time since I heard from you & I want to hear so bad, that - I will write and see what is the matter. I hope neither of you are sick, I heard once you were going to move to Charlottesville last fall, but have not heard weather you did or not. Wish you did live there, just so I could see you some times then. I got a letter from Mary the other day, she says her mama has been very ill for some time there was a little baby born & died in five minutes & Conrad has pneumonia. I am so sorry for them. We have had a dreadful time too, As soon as I was able to get about our little Charlie got thrown from a horse & laid three days without speaking, but I am thankful he is about well now. There were no bones broken, & the Doctor said he never saw a case like it before. Every body in the neighborhood came and offered their help but we nursed him ourselves. I could not leave him to others. Mr. W. had a right bad spell of Grip and was just getting a little better when he was hurt & it excited him so that he was in bed several days. All of us have had dreadful colds but are better now. I helped to buy a new stove with the money you sent me. It is a great comfort our old one was so bad.
I wish you both would come to see us I am right sick to see you. My baby is three months old & a big ... boy, but he has no name yet. Please let me hear from you soon. With much love to you both & Ivy.
I am as ever your devoted niece
